October Bank Holiday 2016

The library at Grangegorman will be closed this Saturday the 29th of October, and Monday the 31st of October for the Halloween bank holiday.
We will be back open on Tuesday the 1st of November as normal. Our opening hours are Monday- Thursday 9:30-9:30, Friday 9:30-5:15, and Saturday 10-5pm.
Please check our website for any updates on our opening hours.

Children and the Arts- Landmark Arts Council/ESRI study

A joint Arts Council/ESRI study based on the Growing Up in Ireland studies, has found that children's involvement in the arts has a positive effect on their ability to copy with school and school work. "The study, which is being published by the Arts Council today, has identified that children aged 9 who frequently read and attend classes in music, dance or drama have an improved 'academic self-image'...by the age of 13. They are also happier, have reduced anxiety, better academic skills and fewer socio-emotional difficulties"

Early Childhood Education students win SPARK Award!

Congratulations to Marguerite Diamond, Amanda Leenheer, and Maria Suszek who recently won the 2016 National Social Enterprise award from SPARK. The award winners are 2016 graduates of the BA Early Childhood Education course.

Saturday Opening starts this Saturday 1st of October

Don't forget that the library at DIT Grangegorman will start its Saturday opening from this Saturday, the 1st of October. We are open from 10am until 5pm.

Saturday's are a great day to catch up on your studies, to browse the shelves, use the computers, or access one of our Group Study Rooms.

Our amazing library staff will be on hand to help you with anything you need.

The Latest Ebooks available from Grangegorman Library

The following core textbooks are now available as ebooks. To access our ebooks simply perform a 'Subject' search using the words: e-book collection dit grangegorman. You will then see a list of all the relevant ebooks available for Art and Design and Social Sciences.
To access any of these ebooks click on the title and you will be brought to the full-text of the ebook. Here you can download/print/save 10% of the book.
Remember you will need your Student Number and Library PIN to access these ebooks off campus.
