New Grangegorman Ebooks

Did you know that the library at Grangegorman has purchased nearly 300 ebooks for staff and students. These ebooks are core and recommended textbooks and are free to registered staff and students of DIT.
Simply search for the book on the catalogue and you will see the
symbol beside any ebook record.
Then all you have to do is click on the link and you will be brought straight to the full text of the book online. You can then print, download, or save 10% of the book (under Copyright law).
Don't forget these excellent resources are free to view and download.

Please note: if you want to access any of our electronic resources outside the DIT campus you will need your student number and your unique library PIN

Here are some recently purchased ebooks

It's that time of year again...

I'm sure that you don't need to be reminded, but those pesky exams are only a couple of weeks away!
You may be studying all the hours the library is open but do you know how to access the previous years' exam papers?
Simply go to the relevant Subject Gateway (available through the library website):

Click on Exam Papers and you should see a list of courses. Click on your course and you should see a list of previous exam papers for that course and year.
Each title is a link to the pdf of the exam paper. You will be able to open them on any DIT device.
If you are off campus you will need to enter a specific Username and Password. Please note, you will need your MyLibrary username (student no.) and PIN to access these passwords.

For more information please ask at the Issue Desk.

Having Problems accessing Library Resources off campus?

Are you having problems accessing your MyLibrary account, and any other electronic resources when outside DIT?
This may be due to problems while using Chrome and its relationship with JAVA.
Please click here for information from Library Systems Support about how to work around this.

Alternatively, please use IE,  Firefox, or Safari to access our resources while off campus.

New Look Subject Gateways!

Grangegorman library has just launched new-look Subject Gateways for the Subject Areas-

Art and Design
Photography
Criminology
Social Sciences.

We still have the same great information available, including access to subject-specific e-resources, dissertation lists, and information about our Group Study Rooms.
New additions include- our in-depth Library Guides that should give you all the information you need from starting an assignment all the way to doing research for your dissertation.
We also have an Ebook section that groups all relevant ebooks together on one page.
Another great section is the 'How to Guides' drop down menu, with guides on anything from 'how to set up a Library PIN' and what you can use it for, to 'how to set up network printing on your own laptop'.

You can browse our new Subject Gateways by going to the main Library Website- www.dit.ie/library or by clicking on the links above.

If there is anything that you think we should add to these subject pages please let us know.
